2 Project window

The project window shows the status of a single project. This window can be opened by starting Octopy in an arch-managed directory, or selecting menu ``Project/Open project'' in the archive manager (Section 3).

Patch-list display (left):

This list shows the list of patches. By default, this list shows the patches in the same category and version that the current tree belongs to. You can display patches in a different project by selecting ``Reference archive'' and ``Reference project'' combo-boxes.

Patches labeled ``N'' are not yet applied. It also shows the special patch name CURRENT. The CURRENT patch, if selected, shows the list of files that has changed in the current directory.

File-list display (upper right):

This list shows the set of files in the selected patch, or in the current checked-out copy (when the CURRENT patch is selected). The leftmost column in this list shows the status of files:

M: Modified
A: Added
D: Deleted
=: Moved
C: Conflict detected
Note: The ``C'' mark is shown when octopy finds a file file.rej.

You can change the type of files displayed in this list by choosing menu ``View/Narrow the list of files''. See Section .

You can do a couple of things to the files displayed on this list.

You can double-click on the file name to see the "diff" between the file and the previous version of the same file. See Section 2.1 to learn more about this feature. This feature is also available from menu ``View/Diff against previous revision''.
The menu ``View/Diff against current tree'' shows the diff between the file and the one in the current tree.
Select files and choose menu "View/Edit files" to see the contents of the file. By default, octopy starts Emacs, but that can be changed via the Preferences dialog, menu ``Tools/Preferences''.
Select files, choose menu "File/Commit" to commit the changes to the file (this operation is enabled only for the CURRENT patch). See Section for more about committing.

Change log (middle right):

This window shows the change log for the selected patch. You can edit the contents of this window if the selected patch is CURRENT.

Message log (bottom):

This window shows the messages output from tla. You can clear the window contents by selecting menu ``View/Clear log''.
